Performance under Pressure

Reconstruction of 1930s press with High pressure hydraulics

1930 pressReconstruction of a 1936 press using hydraulic system working at 700 bar. The location of the old low pressure cylinders, is now used to hold the complete new cylinders. Each cylinder will develop 880 ton across 600 mm stroke to form parts for the new Airbus A380.

4 DD88060-1/L cylinders were produced. These cylinders have both quick couplers and pressure relief valve at the bottom, as the hoses must be connected through the frame of the press.

The powerpack was built using 4 pumps with 4 exits each. Each pump is connected to the 4 solenoid valves. This way, the speed of the press can be controlled, by powering a different number of pumps.
